Please help spread the word! If you know a Nova Scotian student that is studying in the arts, let them know about this opportunity and the March 1 and May 1 deadlines.
The Nova Scotia Talent Trust is celebrating 75 years supporting young artists and helping them turn dreams into careers. In addition to an annual grant of $100,000, the province announced February 7th a one-time funding of $100,000 to further support young Nova Scotians who want to pursue artistic careers in the arts.
The Nova Scotia Talent Trust (NSTT) is a registered charity that provides scholarships to Nova Scotians who demonstrate exceptional potential and commitment to become established artists in their chosen fields. Their annual scholarships include theatre, film/new media, literary arts, dance, music, voice, circus arts, visual arts, and design.
The NSTT Scholarship program funds pre-professional artists. A pre-professional artist is one who is not yet established as a professional artist in his or her discipline and is enrolled in a study program privately or at an institution. The program is intended for applicants whose primary goal is to become a professional artist.
Applicants may submit an application to the Talent Trust before they have been accepted into their proposed program of study. In fact, it is highly recommended applicants do so. Scholarship amounts vary between $500 and $3,000.
