Pre-primary children in 10 locations across the province
will have a chance to pilot a new, on-site, fee-based, before
and after program that will be focused on physical activity and
Government will work with the child care and recreation
sectors to deliver the pilot programs which will be based on the
province’s new Let’s Get Moving Nova Scotia action plan.
Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Zach
Churchill says government wants families to have access to
quality, accessible and affordable before and after programs for
children in pre-primary children in pre-primary.
Families of pre-primary children that take part in the
pilot program will also have access to government’s Child Care
Subsidy Program if they meet the income threshold criteria.
The pilot program will run from January to June, when
the pre-primary programs close for the summer.
