Mark has dedicated his career to public service, serving as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for 32 years. He retired from the RCMP in 2012, having served in detachments around Nova Scotia, including Halifax, Cape Breton, and the South Shore, where he retired as District Commander for Lunenburg County. Mark has fulfilled policing roles in Haiti and Kosovo.
Mark is a life-long community volunteer and supporter of amateur sport in Lunenburg County. He volunteered as a minor and high school hockey coach and power skating instructor. On weekends, he can often be found at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre attending hockey games or at a local school gym or sports field. He remains a supporter of Habitat For Humanity and is an active, 26- year member of the YMCA of Southwest Nova Scotia in Bridgewater.
Mark lives in Bridgewater with his wife Rochelle, a nurse at South Shore Regional Hospital. Their two adult children, Chad and Chelsea, live in Halifax.
