Jerry’s Diner, in Bridgewater, prides itself in having down-home cooked food, and friendly staff. The food tastes, as their sign suggests “Just like Mom used to make.” The Diner offers a hearty, delicious breakfast, that’s served all day long. “You can have anything off the menu, any time of the day”, says Amanda Sawler, the manager of Jerry’s Diner and Convenience Store. Jerry’s also offers home-made soups, baked beans, corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips, loose hamburger and liver and onions. They even serve milkshakes, and a variety of delicious desserts, including soft serve ice-cream.
Customers have the unique opportunity to sit on novelty bar stools and watch the cook prepare their food, or they can relax in one of the booths. It’s informal, reasonably priced dining, with daily specials!
Amanda is proud of her staff. She says, “They make it look seamless, but they work hard and keep customers coming back.” Margie Shea, who has been waitressing at the diner for 21 years, says, “I like to keep people laughing…and the entertainment is always free.” She enjoys working there and added that, “The staff work well together, in a small space… and the customers are great.” Staff make it a point to get to know their customers’ names and its no doubt that, this hospitality keeps people coming back to the diner, over and over again. Seven dedicated women operate Jerry’s Diner. All except one, have worked there for over 5 years. Another six staff operate the convenience store.
